Purpose & identity
Explore success, business exits, retirement, ambition, and a sense of identity that is not limited to work.
What matters when the old milestones stop working?
A completed deal, a promotion, an exit or a retirement date can answer a practical question without answering a personal one. This section offers ways to examine the roles, relationships and commitments that you want to keep, change or rebuild.
These guides do not assume that financial success causes unhappiness, or that a new purpose can be purchased through a programme. They offer structured reflection for people facing a change in how their days are organised.
Separate the decisions
Consider health, work, family and meaning as connected but distinct questions. A therapist can help explore distress and recurring patterns. A coach may help with goals within their competence. Legal and financial decisions still belong with appropriately qualified advisers.
Try a smaller experiment
Instead of announcing a complete reinvention, choose one reversible experiment: a regular mentoring commitment, an activity without a performance target, or time with a friend who knows you outside your professional role. Notice what you learn. Reflection is not a replacement for care when you are unwell.
