Therapy & care

Therapy & care

Compare therapy, outpatient care, residential treatment, and wellbeing programmes without confusing their roles.

Men's Midlife GuideUpdated 22 September 2026

Begin with the question you need answered

Do you need help understanding a symptom, ongoing psychological support, medical treatment, protection from an immediate risk, or time to work on wellbeing? Different services do different jobs.

A setting is not a treatment plan

A retreat is not automatically a clinical service. Residential treatment is not automatically better than care near home. Privacy, surroundings and service quality matter, but so do assessment, staff qualifications, medication responsibility, emergency arrangements and continuing care.

The comparison guides in this section are decision aids. They do not assess your suitability for a programme or promise that one provider is right for everyone.

Explore different care formats

The programme pages explain individual residential care, a shared residential setting, and a separate wellbeing pathway. Read the descriptions of THE BALANCE, COGNIFUL and SENSES to prepare questions, then confirm current services and suitability directly with the provider.

Keep local options visible

Your own clinician, local therapy, public services and hospital care remain relevant routes. Travel should follow an assessment of need and safety, not the other way round.
